Sinkfield Receives Coveted GABWA Endorsement

GABWA supports Sinkfield for Secretary of State

Atlanta, GA – July 2, 2010 – The Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA) today announced their endorsement of Georganna Sinkfield for Secretary of State in the July 20 primary election.

“GABWA has a long legacy of empowering women and communities and advocating for women and children and I am honored to have their endorsement,” said Sinkfield.

GABWA chose to endorse Sinkfield over her opponents in the July 20 Democratic Primary after a rigorous consideration process.  The field of candidates include five contenders for the role of top elections official and the head of licensing and securities for the State of Georgia.

GABWA is a voluntary bar association established to serve the needs of black women attorneys. The organization is comprised of judges, law students, professors, deans, government and public interest lawyers, state bar attorneys, in-house attorneys from small, mid-sized and Fortune 500 corporations, solo/small firm lawyers, and large firm lawyers.

As GABWA’s chosen candidate for Secretary of State, the organization will help ensure Sinkfield’s victory on July 20. GABWA plans to reach out to its statewide membership to encourage voter participation and support Sinkfield’s campaign efforts.
